This week we are teaming up with our friends MONDO once again to release a brand new poster for the wonderful Danish/French film Babette's Feast by BDP favourite and bona fide illustrators' illustrator Sterling Hundley.
Directed by Gabriel Axel, the film focuses on two pious sisters who have spent their entire lives on a desolate coast under the watchful eye of their pastor father and his devoted congregation. After he passes away, a Parisian refugee named Babette enters the picture as their housekeeper and with her a world of fleshly pleasures in the form of delicious food and wine. Based on a 1958 story by Isak Dinesen - a pen name of Karen Blixen - and winner of 1987’s Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Babette's Feast deftly balances the relationships between piety, grace, and selflessness and ultimately tells a story of what it means to be an artist.
Babette's Feast will go on sale Tuesday 06 October at 5pm UK time from our shop, or from MONDO for our North American friends.
